The BRCL-M1 road controller for traffic lights

Purpose: The device is an executive instrument of the road traffic automated control system (RTACS) and directly used in the signal control. It is a fixed installation in the open air.

Functionalities:

• - signal control on the programs embedded before the device’s installation and automatically removable in the day time, week days, months, parameters of the traffic streams;
• - cut of the traffic lights in case of emergency (simultaneous connection of the light signals allowing to move in the conflict directions, connection of the green and red signals in one direction), at the short circuit in the mains;
• - automatic shift of the traffic lights into the mode of “yellow flashing” when the red lamps are disabled;
• - keeping of the electronic operation log wherein the date and time of equipment malfunctions (short circuits, blowout of the red lamps, problems in the mains) are fixed;
• - automatic recheck of the malfunction in the preset time and return to the operation mode after its elimination;
• - connection of the traffic lights through the red signal with duration from 3 to 10 s in all directions;
• - automatic power shift of the signal lamps to the lower consumption (economical mode) at night;
• - automatic power shift of the signal lamps to the lower consumption (economical mode) at night;
• - automatic shift to the seasonal time;
• - operation within the road traffic automated control system (protocol “Start”);
• - programming is carried-out from the PC or console (on the operation place) through RS-232 interface;
• - interaction between the primary data display (data on the time remained till the end of the signal light action) and speed indicator (sign 5.18 “recommended speed”) through RS-485 interface.

   

Basic characteristics:
• - operating temperature range from -40°С to + 50°С and relative humidity up to 100% at +35°С;
• - mains voltage from 170 to 250 V, frequency 50 Hz;
• - power without load - maximum 80 W;
• - quantity of independently controlled power circuits for connection of the signal lamps – 16, 24, 32, 48, 64 (defined by the performance type);
• - maximum load current of the mains - 2А, minimum - 50 mА (the traffic lights are on the LED displays);
• - total load current of all mains - maximum 40 А.

The engineer’s console (EC) (see photo) can be supplied jointly with the road controller.

Functionalities EC:

• - hand operation of the road controller and full display of its status;- updating of the road controller current time;
• - reading and keeping of the road controllers logs with probability of their further transmission to the PC;
• - road controller testing;
• - storage, loading into the controller and reading from the controller of the relocation tables;
• - fully compatible with the road controllers BRCL-M, BRCL-M1.

   

Basic characteristics EC:

• - operating temperature range from -30°С to +50°С and relative humidity up to 100% at +35°С;
• - type of display – LCD, textual, two-row, 16 characters in line;- screen brightening color – green;
• - quantity of the stored relocation tables – 9 (for 9 different traffic lights);
• - quantity of the stored operation logs – 10 (from 10 different road controllers).
