PKTzL INTEGRITY CONTROL PROGRAM

APPLICATION

The PKTzL program is designed to control integrity of data and program files in a computer and to deliver the results to the administrator. Control is carried out by comparing the current status of program files with reference data generated during program and on administrator’s command.

BASIC CHARACTERISTICS

The PKTzL program runs under Linux Redhat v. 4.0 operating system in combination with the program for calculation of the file hash value (HASH program).

The distribution CD contains the PKTzL program and the user manual.

FUNCTIONS

The PKTzL program performs the following functions:

-        Generation of files containing reference values of access characteristics of files being controlled;

-        Generation of files containing reference hash values;

-        File integrity control based on reference values of access characteristics;

-        File integrity control based on reference hash values;

-        Generation of messages with program outputs and their transfer to the mail service for sending by e-mail;

-        Recording of outputs to the program’s log and transfer of the corresponding events to the system logging service over the syslog protocol.

ADVANTAGES

Compliance of the PKTzL program with the information security requirements is certified by Expert Opinion № 143 issued on 29.06.2009 by the Situation Analysis Centre under the President of the Republic of Belarus.
